Nestled within a 4,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor establishment, their restaurant boasts an impressive menu of Japanese-Peruvian fusion dishes. Don’t miss the standout tiraditos or the inventive ceviches such as La Punta, featuring tuna, salsa verde, tostones, and leche de tigre blanca. The sushi bar specials and banadito rolls, a tiradito and sushi roll mash-up, are also not to be missed.
The best things to do in the Design District
Pair your dish with one of the center bar’s well-crafted cocktails for a complete dining experience. Simon Kim’s elevated take on a Korean barbecue steakhouse presents a diverse menu with dishes like steak tartare and steak and eggs. However, the standout experience at Cote is the Butcher’s Feast, a chef’s selection of four cuts of meat accompanied by a savory egg souffle, two stews, rice, and other Korean sides, all priced at $68 per person. Cote’s menu also showcases an array of prime meat choices, each grilled Korean barbecue-style on smokeless grills at the table. For a truly indulgent experience, try the 10-course steak omakase, priced at $225 per person.

The journalist, art critic and educator hosts walking tours one Wednesday evening and one Saturday afternoon every month (check the MDD website for schedule and more details). All tours meet in the front of Fly’s Eye Dome on the first floor of MDD’s Palm Court and will highlight new and classic art and design by local and world-renowned artists. Everyone is welcome to join for a tour, so bring the kiddos along if you think they’ll enjoy it. You could easily spend all day (and by all day, we mean 9 a.m to 10 p.m. daily, the market’s operating hours) inside St. Roch Market, the New Orleans food hall that made its way to Miami early last year. The 10,000 square foot second-floor space features 12 vendors with creative menus, like Jaffa, where you can order a mushroom turmeric hummus that’s unlike anything you’ve ever tasted before. St. Roch offers an abundance of vegan options at Chef Chloe and the Vegan Cafe, too.
Is Wynwood the same as the Design District?
His legacy isn’t only this body of work but also the influence he had on young artists working today. Pura Vida Design District
A relatively new fashion brand from Italy is Nodaleto with its distinctive chunky heel and square toe. Find casual and dressy options in patent leather, textiles, satin and others. With daily flow, power flow and meditation classes, you don’t have to worry about yoga being too fast or slow-paced for you at Ahana. Instructors here aren’t afraid to help with adjustments and are super friendly and helpful, especially if you’re a first timer.
MDD is teeming with art, high-end boutiques, galleries, restaurants, bars and design and architecture firms.Below are eight things to do on for day well spent in the Miami Design District. This is just a start, of course, but it’ll leave you wanting more for sure. With a focus on design, there's lots of eye candy here, from sculpture-filled plazas to striking architecture, to luxury brands wooing shoppers with glitzy interiors—all just a stone's throw from equally colorful Wynwood.

Cote should be on your shortlist for any sort of big, celebratory blowout dinner. The staff take turns tending to beef sizzling away on the grill located in the center of the table. You will probably end up ordering multiple rounds of the phenomenal cocktails. The restaurant has a sleek design that makes you feel like you’re eating 1,000 years in the future. And when added all together, these things make Cote one of the most exciting restaurants in the city. If it’s your first time here, definitely start with the Butcher’s Feast, a $68 per person tasting menu that ends with a little cup of soy sauce caramel soft serve.
They shave the ice fresh with a little machine, filling the bowl with a dozen or so flavor options ranging from mango lassi to cortadito. Our favorite is the tiger tempura, which is infused with what tastes like cereal milk, then topped with milk espuma and Frosted Flakes. L’Atelier is expensive, but also a guaranteed impressive dinner (if you're into fussy futuristic French dishes). Expect great service and very decadent small plates involving lots of foie gras.
Design District’s go-to for upscale yet approachable dining is a great spot to stop for happy hour or book a reservation for brunch. Expect an ever-changing menu of seasonal classics, fresh-shucked oysters and some of the best people-watching around. Two years ago, the partnership bought a portfolio of 15 retail buildings along Northeast 39th Street for $165 million and has since tapped David Chipperfield, who won the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2023, to redesign the assemblage. Their Design District shop serves good ice cream with cereal mixed into each bite. Our culinary vision is to create vibrant food that is original and thoughtful, yet humble in its roots.
But among the designer brands and lines of people trying to get into the Gucci store, there are excellent outdoor restaurants, some of Miami's best sushi, and great date night spots. I remember growing up and passing through the area of the Miami Design District, which at the time was an 18 square block area of rundown under-utilized commercial buildings. His ability to see the potential in the neglected neighborhood and commit to transforming it street by street with commerce and culture is one that has resulted in the Miami Design District designation as the world’s first Gold LEED-certified neighborhood. There are plenty of great Miami neighborhoods where culture, food, music and shops are unique and interesting. Sure you’ve ventured off to Little Havana, Brickell and Downtown Miami and discovered all there is to do and see in these areas. A hop, skip and jump away from Wynwood (literally, you could walk from one to the other), Design District offers something a little different.
